OUR MISSION The Humane Society of Sullivan County Inc. is a non-profit organization committed to the education of the public in the humane treatment of all animals, the prevention of cruelty to animals, the relief of suffering among animals, and the importance of animal control through the promotion of spaying and neutering.
VISION Our vision is to eliminate pet overpopulation and improve quality of life in Sullivan and surrounding counties.
About The Humane Society of Sullivan County The Humane Society of Sullivan County (THSSC) provides resources and information to the community to improve animal welfare and reduce overpopulation. THSSC connects owners with low cost spay/neuter clinics, provides educational materials, microchipping and animal control/welfare checks in addition to placing pets in loving homes. In 2014, THSSC placed over 1,000 dogs and cats through local adoption events, rescue organizations and national partnerships such as PetSmart Charities Rescue Waggin'. This networking allowed THSSC to remain a low kill shelter. While PetSmart discontinued Rescue Waggin' we have still remained a low kill shelter and THSSC is continually working to improve pet owner quality of life.
