MISSION

The Humane Society of Sullivan County, Inc. is a non-profit organization committed to the education of the public in the humane treatment of all animals, the prevention of cruelty to animals, the relief of suffering among animals, and the importance of animal control through the promotion of spaying and neutering.

VISION

Our vision is to eliminate pet overpopulation and improve quality of life in Sullivan and surrounding counties.

About The Humane Society of Sullivan County

The Humane Society of Sullivan County (HSSC) provides resources and information to the community to improve animal welfare and reduce overpopulation.  HSSC connects owners with low cost spay/neuter clinics, provides educational materials, microchipping and animal control/welfare checks in addition to placing pets in loving homes.

In 2014, HSSC placed over 1,000 dogs and cats through local adoption events, rescue organizations and national partnerships such as PetSmart Charities Rescue Waggin’. This networking allows HSSC to remain a low kill shelter boasting an 58% adoption rate, 23% above the national average. HSSC is continually working to improve pet and owner quality of life.
